Another exciting game for Jaszberenyi (1-0) which played in Budapest against MAFC (0-1). Jaszberenyi eked out just a narrow 2-points road win over MAFC 60-58. MAFC was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. MAFC was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 18-12 third quarter run of Jaszberenyi. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Serbian power forward Svetozar Stamenkovic (206-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Brian Williams (196-92, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 20 points. At the losing side India-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (201-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Deville Smith (183-91, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Two Points) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Jaszberenyi will play against Sopron KC (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MAFC will play against Atomeromu in Paks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
