Regular Season Round 7: Kormend - ZTE KK 81-69

Very expected game when 10th ranked ZTE KK (3-4) lost on the road to third ranked Kormend (5-1) 81-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. ZTE KK was better in fourth quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for American forward Justin Tuoyo (208-94, college: Chattanooga) who helped to win the game recording 13 points. His fellow American import guard Marquis Wright (185-95, college: Siena) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. Kormend's coach Gasper Potocnik used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: XL Basketball Agency) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Deonta Vaughn (184-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for ZTE KK. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kormend. They moved-up to second place. Loser ZTE KK dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Kormend will face PVSK-Veolia (#7) in Pecs in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ZTE KK will play at home against Kaposvari and hope to win that game.
