Regular Season Round 16: SKM I - VKKM 99-61

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vilniaus:SKM I (#3) and VKKM (#2). SKM I (10-4) smashed visiting VKKM (9-5) by 38 points 99-61 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of VKKM. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game without a history. SKM I led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding VKKM to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded VKKM 53-36 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. SKM I looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Matas Deniusas (200-2007) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Adomas Pocius (195-2007) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four SKM I players scored in double figures. Guard Tadas Rinkevicius (185-2007) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Arnas Vaistaras (197-2007) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for VKKM. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SKM I have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. VKKM at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost.
