Regular Season Round 18: Wolves - Rytas 84-88

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Vilnius:Rytas (#2) and Wolves (#3). Wolves was defeated at home 84-88 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Rytas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international Margiris Normantas (194-1996) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Azuolas Tubelis (211-2002, college: Arizona) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Rytas' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) replied with 14 points and 8 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Arnoldas Kulboka (208-1998) added 19 points in the effort for Wolves. Four Rytas and five Wolves players scored in double figures. Rytas (15-3) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position behind leader Zalgiris. Wolves lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost.
