No shocking result in a game when first rankedVKM (14-2) beat 6th ranked Zalgiris (9-9) in Vilniaus 81-74 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-74. VKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Gabrielius Anskinas (-2008) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Gabrielius Kerys (190-2008) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four VKM players scored in double figures. Guard Mikas Pazera (192-2007) came up with 20 points and guard Dominykas Urbonavicius (188-2007) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Zalgiris in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for VKM . They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Zalgiris lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost.
