Regular Season Round 19: Zalgiris II - VKKM 89-73

An interesting game was also a 16-point surprising road defeat of 4th rankedVKKM in a game in Kaunas versus Zalgiris II (#7) 89-73 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of VKKM. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris II. VKKM managed to win second period 25-23 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris II looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Justis Sinkevicius (188-2007) who led the winners and scored 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists. Forward Jokubas Sablinskas (204-2008) accounted for 14 points and 19 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side. Zalgiris II's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Nikita Cikunov (184-2007) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and guard Simas Sarakauskas (185-2007) added 13 points and 12 assists respectively for VKKM in the defeat. Four VKKM players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II (9-8) moved-up to sixth place. VKKM at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost.
