There was a minor upset when 6th rankedOmega-Tauras (8-7) lost to eighth ranked Jurbarkas (8-7) in Kaunas 80-89 on Thursday. Jurbarkas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Omega-Tauras ' 36. Jurbarkas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by power forward Karolis Guscikas (206-1992, agency: BIG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Gintautas Matulis supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Jurbarkas players scored in double figures. Even 26 points (made all of his seven free throws) by the former international point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-1989) did not help to save the game for Omega-Tauras . American point guard Nickolas Neal (184-1988, college: Purdue-NCent.) added 6 points and 9 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jurbarkas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Omega-Tauras and Vilkaviskis.
