The game had a very big importance for second-rankedZalgiris as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zalgiris smashed 6th ranked Gargzdu in Kaunas 108-71 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gargzdu. Zalgiris made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Gargzdu 42-27 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zalgiris looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Gargzdu 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zalgiris made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Mantas Rubstavicius (198-2002) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) and international power forward Azuolas Tubelis (211-2002, college: Arizona) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach Tomas Masiulis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Trey Pulliam (190-1998, college: SDSU) with 17 points and 6 assists and power forward Paulius Petrilevicius (204-1991) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Zalgiris (9-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Gargzdu at the other side dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost.
