Regular Season Round 21: Omega-Tauras - Mazeikiai 88-104

The most shocking disappointment of round 21 in the NKL was a home defeat of 7th rankedOmega-Tauras (9-10) by eighth ranked Mazeikiai (10-9) who outscored them by 16 points 104-88 . Mazeikiai outrebounded Omega-Tauras 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Mazeikiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Coltie Young stepped up and scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and point guard Jokubas Stropus (199-2004) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Mazeikiai's coach Marius Kiltinavicius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-1989) with 17 points and 8 assists and guard Vytautas Sulskis (201-1988, college: YSU, agency: BIG) scored 19 points. Four Mazeikiai and five Omega-Tauras players scored in double figures. Mazeikiai moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kretinga. Omega-Tauras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost.
