Regular Season Round 10: VKM - Tornado KM 78-75

Important game to mention about took place in Vilniaus. Second rankedVKM (9-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Tornado KM (8-2) 78-75 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tornado KM. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Tornado KM was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 19-9 third quarter run of VKM . They outrebounded Tornado KM 45-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. VKM brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Gabrielius Anskinas had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds and 5 blocks (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Nikas Janeliauskas chipped in 23 points during the contest. At the losing side Azuolas Steputis responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Neidas Linartas scored 14 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Five Tornado KM players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. VKM have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Saule. Defending champion Tornado KM keeps the third place with two games lost.
