There was no surprise when 9th rankedMazeikiai (12-14) was edged by third ranked Vytis (19-7) in Sakiai 83-82 on Monday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Vytis made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Rokas Jocys (195-2004, college: Manhattan) who scored that evening 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and center Augustinas Mikstas (203-2001) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points by American guard Coltie Young (190-2003, college: ULM) did not help to save the game for Mazeikiai . His fellow American import guard DeAngelo Epps (196-2000, college: Catawba) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Five Vytis and four Mazeikiai players scored in double figures. Vytis moved-up to second place. Mazeikiai lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Silute and Kretinga.
