Regular Season Round 16: KKM I - Zalgiris 89-90

Important game to mention about took place in Klaipeda. Eighth ranked Zalgiris (7-8) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked KKM I (7-8) 90-89 in the fight for the fifth place. KKM I was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Dovydas Jakstonis (196-2008) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Nojus Jankauskas who added 18 points during the contest. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. At the losing side Aivaras Simonaitis (-2008) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Dovydas Sipavicius (-2008) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Zalgiris moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated KKM I. Zalgiris' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Zalgiris II.
