Regular Season Round 22: Perkunas - Saule 69-100

U18 League top team -Saule (19-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Perkunas (6-14) in Kaunas 100-69 . The game without a history. Saule led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Perkunas ' 38. They outrebounded Perkunas 50-30 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Saule looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Saule made 9 blocks. Dagnius Varikas (-2008) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Rinaldas Kairys (-2008) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Four Saule players scored in double figures. Saule's coach Dainius Bertulis felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 assists by Vytis Sliogeris did not help to save the game for Perkunas . Guard Rokas Juodvirsis (185-2008) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Saule have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-1 record. Loser Perkunas keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost.
