Everything went according to plan in Coimbra where third rankedGinasio (6-2) beat bottom-ranked Academica (0-8) 89-74 on Saturday. Ginasio dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Academica 's 38. They outrebounded Academica 49-22 including a 40-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ginasio looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Anthony Howell (201, college: ACU) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Andre Mendes chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Four Ginasio players scored in double figures. Ginasio's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Slovenian Matic Lamut (199-2003) produced 32 points and 4 steals and Manir Waller added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Ginasio moved-up to second place, which they share with Illiabum and Imortal U23. Loser Academica still closes the standings with eight games lost.
