This time newly promoted Vasco da Gama won against tenth-ranked Vitoria SC in Guimaraes 88-84 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vitoria SC. Vasco da Gama forced 23 Vitoria SC turnovers. Strangely Vitoria SC outrebounded Vasco da Gama 40-28 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. 29 personal fouls committed by Vitoria SC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Akoi Yuot who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Sean Clancey contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Vasco da Gama players scored in double figures. American guard Sam Peek (201-1999, college: Stetson) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Malique Jacobs (190-2000, college: Kent St.) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Vitoria SC. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vasco da Gama (2-8) moved-up to eleventh place. Vitoria SC at the other side keeps the tenth position with seven games lost.
