Everything could happen in Sao Joao at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh rankedSanjoanense and 9th ranked Galitos had identical 3-11 record. This time Sanjoanense used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Aveiro 66-63 on Saturday night. Sanjoanense made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Galitos only scored seven points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Brazilian center Juliana Souza (185-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Schekinah Bimpa (180-1998, college: Limestone) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. Bimpa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Sanjoanense players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ines Neto (172-2005) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and German Luisa Nufer (185-2002) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Sanjoanense (4-11) moved-up to ninth place. Galitos lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. They share it with Coimbroes.
