No shocking result in a game when leaderTargu Jiu (5-0) crushed on the road 5th ranked Gheorgheni (1-3) 122-79 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 43 points. Targu Jiu dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Gheorgheni 's 42. Targu Jiu forced 22 Gheorgheni turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kaleb Higgins (178-2001, college: CSUB, agency: MSG) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!). Mali Modibo Diaby (202-2003, agency: BIG) accounted for 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Targu Jiu players scored in double figures. Slovenian point guard Matevz Magusar (185-1989) came up with 19 points and 6 assists and guard Matyas Lokody (190-1987) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Gheorgheni in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Targu Jiu . They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Gheorgheni dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Rm Valcea 2.
