There was a surprise result when ninth rankedRm Valcea 2 (2-8) defeated on the road higher ranked Ploiesti CSM 2 (4-6) 79-72 on Wednesday. Ploiesti CSM 2 was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of Rm Valcea 2, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Ploiesti CSM 2 turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Luca Ciurea (185-2006) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Mihai-Nicolae Carcoana (211-2002, college: S.Dakota) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Rm Valcea 2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Lorenzo Diaconescu (203-2005, agency: BIG) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and swingman David-Ioan Rasoga (187-2008) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rm Valcea 2 maintains ninth position with 2-8 record. Loser Ploiesti CSM 2 dropped to the sixth place with six games lost.
