The game in Bucuresti was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Valcea (13-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Rapid (12-7). Valcea managed to secure a 8-point victory 122-114. Valcea made 36-of-43 charity shots (83.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Rapid turnovers. Valcea brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Rapid was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-Canadian guard Kadre Gray (186-1997, college: Laurentian) who helped to win the game recording 50 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American Cornelius Hudson (200-1993, college: Wake Forest) contributed with 29 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Mladen Armus (208-1997, college: Boise St., agency: 011 Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 22 rebounds and American guard Christyon Eugene (190-2001, college: Troy, agency: 011 Sports) added 31 points in the effort for Rapid. Four Valcea and five Rapid players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valcea maintains fourth place with 13-5 record. Rapid at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Pitesti. Valcea will play against Dinamo (#12) in Bucuresti in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rapid's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bucuresti to the arena Steaua.
