An interesting game forPolitehnica Iasi (10-16) which played road game in Gheorgheni against their biggest opponent Gheorgheni (9-15). Third ranked Politehnica Iasi had an easy win 68-48 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gheorgheni. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game without a history. Politehnica Iasi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Gheorgheni to an opponent 20.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Gheorgheni 51-38 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Matei Chelmu (-2008) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 21 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Horia Dragoslav (-2002) supported him with 10 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Politehnica Iasi players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds by guard Matyas Lokody (190-1987) did not help to save the game for Gheorgheni . Nicolae Lungu (-2007) added 7 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Politehnica Iasi moved-up to second place. Loser Gheorgheni dropped to the third position with 15 games lost.
