Very predictable result when fifth rankedVoluntari (4-2) defeated at home 10th ranked Ploiesti CSM (2-4) 94-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Voluntari. Ploiesti CSM managed to win fourth quarter 19-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Voluntari made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Voluntari outrebounded Ploiesti CSM 33-21 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Voluntari looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Solomon Young (203-1998, college: Iowa St.) fired 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. His fellow American import forward Lee Skinner (198-1992, college: Wofford) chipped in 16 points (made all of his seven free throws). Five Voluntari players scored in double figures. Serbian center Veljko Brkic (206-1995) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and added 17 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Voluntari maintains fifth place with 4-2 record, which they share with Valcea. Loser Ploiesti CSM keeps the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Timisoara.
