There was a small surprise when third rankedRapid 2 (5-2) rolled over leader CSU ASE (5-2) in Bucuresti 98-73 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Rapid 2. CSU ASE managed to win second period 17-14 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapid 2 made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 CSU ASE turnovers. Strangely CSU ASE outrebounded Rapid 2 47-33 including 21 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Georges Darwiche (183-1998, college: OLLU, agency: One Motive Sports) who led the winners and scored 29 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Tudor Pirvu accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Rapid 2 players scored in double figures. Guard Dragos Parau (179-2006, agency: One Motive Sports) came up with 22 points and 5 assists and Matei-Alexandru Rosu added 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for CSU ASE in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rapid 2 keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated CSU ASE .
