Everything went according to plan when second rankedTargoviste (8-2) outleveled on the road 5th ranked Ploiesti CSU (2-8) 101-59 on Sunday. The game without a history. Targoviste led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Ploiesti CSU 's 36. Targoviste forced 19 Ploiesti CSU turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Targoviste looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Ploiesti CSU 's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Targoviste made 11 blocks. Ioan Rizescu scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Filip Tanase chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks during the contest. Five Targoviste players scored in double figures. At the losing side Alexandru Chirila responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Georges Darwiche (183-1998, college: OLLU, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 8 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Targoviste keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Cluj CSU. Loser Ploiesti CSU keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Oradea 2 and Gheorgheni.
