A very close game took place in Voluntari (derby !!!) between Rapid 2 and Voluntari 2. Second ranked Rapid 2 (7-2) got a very close victory on the road over 4th ranked Voluntari 2 (4-5). Rapid 2 managed to escape with a 1-point win 112-111 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 112-111. Rapid 2 forced 21 Voluntari 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Petru Voiculescu scored 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Georges Darwiche (183-1998, college: OLLU, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Rapid 2's coach Eugen Ilie used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side Matei Alexandru responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and scored 20 points and 7 assists. Four Rapid 2 and five Voluntari 2 players scored in double figures. Rapid 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Rapid 2 maintains second position with 7-2 record behind leader Leii. Voluntari 2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost.
