No shocking result in a game when second rankedVoluntari (10-3) defeated at home 12th ranked Sibiu (5-8) 97-80 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Voluntari. Sibiu managed to win fourth quarter 28-27 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sibiu 44-19 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Voluntari looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international center Alexandru Olah (210-1993, college: Northwestern) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Kodi Justice (199-1995, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 19 points during the contest. American point guard Tavon King (180-1997, college: Cumberland) responded with 21 points and 4 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import guard MJ Randolph (193-1999, college: FAMU) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Voluntari have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Cluj Napoca. Loser Sibiu keeps the twelfth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ploiesti CSM.
