The biggest surprise of round 1 in Liga I took place in Ploiesti where hostPloiesti CSU beat ACS Bucuresti 90-83 on Tuesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ACS Bucuresti won third quarter 23-19 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by ACS Bucuresti helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Alexandru Chirila fired a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Mihai Stanescu chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Matei Condurache produced 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Bior Agwer added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four ACS Bucuresti players scored in double figures. ACS Bucuresti's coach Florian Dinu rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
