No shocking result in a game when fourth rankedPitesti (11-5) defeated at home 11th ranked Steaua (7-9) 76-72 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17 . But Steaua won third quarter 16-8 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pitesti dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Steaua B. 's 22. American forward Kendall Lewis (203, college: Illinois St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Catalin Baciu (214-1988, college: Clemson) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Pitesti players scored in double figures. American forward Juwan Gray (203-1996, college: Towson, agency: Blacktop Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Dame Adelekun (203-2001, college: Loyola, IL) scored 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Pitesti moved-up to third place. Loser Steaua B. dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Sibiu and Brasov.
