There was a small surprise when sixth rankedValcea (13-8) edged on the road 4th placed Pitesti (13-8) 85-82 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 23-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Valcea looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Belgian point guard Emmanuel Lecomte (180-1995, college: Baylor, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. The former international center Rares Uta (211-1997, agency: BIG) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Valcea players scored in double figures. American forward Dimitrius Underwood (193-1998, college: Charleston, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Kendall Lewis (203, college: Illinois St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Valcea . They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pitesti and Craiova.
