Fifth-rankedSibiu 2 (9-10) made lots of trouble for first ranked Rapid 2 (17-3) in Bucuresti on Thursday. Rapid 2 managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88 . However their fans expected much easier game. Sibiu 2 trailed 43-41 at halftime, rallying from a 32-19 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. The former international point guard Georges Darwiche (183-1998, college: OLLU, agency: One Motive Sports) fired 20 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Melvin Dubuc (198-2007) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Rapid 2's coach Eugen Ilie used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Raul Mitrache (200-2007, agency: One Motive Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Gabriel Radu (184-2007) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Four Rapid 2 and five Sibiu 2 players scored in double figures. Rapid 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Rapid 2 maintains first position with 17-3 record. Sibiu 2 at the other side dropped to the second place with ten games lost. They share the position with Gheorgheni.
