There was a surprise result when eleventh rankedUniv.Surgut (3-2) beat at home 4th placed Kupol-Rodniki (3-2) 65-55 on Tuesday. Univ.Surgut forced 21 Kupol-Rodniki turnovers. Point guard Kirill Salmin (191-1995) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and the former international swingman Igor Smygin (197-1987) chipped in 2 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Nikolai Zhmako (195-1989, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 16 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Daniil Karvanen (200-1998) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds.
