Merkezefendi has registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Istanbul, where they defeated Buyukcekmece (1-4) 80-75 . Merkezefendi shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. American guard Sharife Cooper (185-2001, college: Auburn) nailed 20 points and 6 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import Tyler Cook (206-1997, college: Iowa) accounted for 12 points. Dutch guard Yannick Franke (196-1996) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Markel Starks (188-1991, college: Georgetown) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for Buyukcekmece in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Merkezefendi left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Darussafaka and Buyukcekmece. It was Buyukcekmece 's third loss in a row.
