There was an upset in Izmir where higher rankedPinar Karsiyaka (8-6) was outplayed by eleventh ranked Turk Telekom (6-8) 95-73 on Saturday. Turk Telekom made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Turk Telekom outrebounded Pinar Karsiyaka 42-31 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Anthony Brown (199-1992, college: Stanford) who scored 18 points and 7 assists. The former international Berkan Durmaz (206-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. American point guard Daron Russell (180-1998, college: Maryland) produced 21 points and 5 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and international center Muhsin Yasar (210-1995) added 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turk Telekom moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Petkim. Pinar Karsiyaka lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Bahcesehir and Mersin BBGSK.
