Regular Season Round 16: Besiktas - Tofas 95-70

The most important game in the last round took place in Istanbul between second rankedTofas (12-4) and fifth ranked Besiktas Tofas was crushed by Besiktas on the road 70-95 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. Besiktas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tofas ' 36. They outrebounded Tofas 39-23 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin-American point guard Derek Needham (180-1990, college: Fairfield) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. American center Emanuel Terry (206-1996, college: LMU) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Mexican-American point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-1993) replied with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward JJ OBrien (200-1992, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) added 18 points in the effort for Tofas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas moved-up to fourth place. Tofas at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Anadolu Efes.
