Very important is a road loss of third rankedTofas (13-5) against twelfth ranked Buyukcekmece (7-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Tofas was defeated by Buyukcekmece in a tough game in Istanbul 83-88 . Buyukcekmece made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. Buyukcekmece outrebounded Tofas 42-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. American point guard Markel Starks (188-1991, college: Georgetown) scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Jermaine Love (191-1989, college: UIS) chipped in 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Marcquise Reed (190-1995, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) with 26 points and 4 assists and Mexican-American point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-1993) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Five Buyukcekmece and four Tofas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Buyukcekmece moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bursaspor and Petkim. Loser Tofas keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Besiktas.
