There was no surprise in Ankara where 16th rankedGallardo (5-21) was defeated by eighth ranked Mersin Secil (12-14) 73-61 on Friday. Mersin Secil made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Gallardo turnovers. Mersin Secil looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Kurstyn Harden (190-2000, college: SF Austin) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds. Yagmur Yildiz (172-2000) chipped in 14 points and 9 assists. American forward Asia Strong (188-2000, college: Syracuse) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and guard Cansu Cankurt (170-1990) added 8 points and 11 assists respectively for the hosts. Newly promoted Mersin Secil maintains eighth position with 12-14 record. Gallardo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 21 lost games.
