Regular Season Round 29: Ankaragucu - Cayirova 80-90

There was a minor upset when 4th placedAnkaragucu (18-10) lost at home to sixth ranked Cayirova (17-12) 90-80 on Monday. Cayirova made 27-of-27 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Diante Watkins (175-1990, college: RMU, agency: BIG) nailed 28 points and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and Mehmet Oguzhan Kizil (-1996) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Marlain Veal (175-1996, college: SE Louisiana) came up with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Hakan Yapar (202-1984) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Ankaragucu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cayirova moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cagdas BS. Loser Ankaragucu keeps the fourth position with ten games lost.
