Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul:Efes (#3) and Buyukcekmece (#8). Efes (23-7) won against visiting Buyukcekmece (13-17) 76-65 . It was a good game for Latvian Rolands Smits (208-1995) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds. American Derek Willis (206-1995, college: Kentucky) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Efes players scored in double figures. American Evan Bruinsma (204-1992, college: Detroit, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Ata Kahraman (192-1999) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Buyukcekmece. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Efes have an impressive five-game winning streak. Anadolu Efes moved-up to second place, which they share with Besiktas. Buyukcekmece lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Turk Telekom and Bursaspor.
