There was a minor upset in Koaceli where 7th rankedTurgutlu (2-3) was defeated by tenth ranked Darica (2-2) 75-68 on Wednesday. Darica outrebounded Turgutlu 50-32 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Brittany Byrd (176-1996, college: UIC) who scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Ozge Karatas (174-1996, agency: 0z Sports Agency) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Darica's coach Mithat Ozciger used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Caterrion Thompson (175-1998, college: MSU) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Kennedi Jackson (190-2001, college: Charleston So.) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for the guests.
