A very close game took place in Mersin (derby !!!) betweenMersin G. and Darica . Eighth ranked Mersin G. (4-4) got a very close home victory over 10th ranked Darica (2-5). Mersin G. managed to escape with a 2-point win 78-76 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by Liatu King who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Arzu Ozdemir supported her with 12 points and 5 assists. Four Mersin G. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks by American forward Dekeiya Cohen (188-1996, college: Baylor) did not help to save the game for Darica . Her fellow American import guard Brittany Byrd (176-1996, college: UIC) added 24 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Mersin G. moved-up to seventh place. Darica lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Emlak 2 and Mersin Secil.
