Regular Season Round 6: Kocaeli - Canakkale 70-67

Kocaeli has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Canakkale (0-6) 70-67 on Saturday. Kocaeli forced 21 Canakkale turnovers. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jazmine Jones (183-1996, college: Louisville) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. American-Montenegrin forward Taya Reimer (193-1995, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-British guard Sydney Wallace (175-1993, college: Georgia Tech) who recorded 24 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Sheylani Peddy (170-1988, college: Temple) added 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals respectively. Four Canakkale players scored in double figures. Canakkale's coach Tugce Canbaz tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kocaeli (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Ormanspor. It was Canakkale 's sixth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost.
