There was no surprise when 12th rankedMersin Spor (2-6) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Turk Telekom (4-4) 96-82 on Saturday. Turk Telekom dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mersin Spor 's 32. They outrebounded Mersin Spor 40-20 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Turk Telekom looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin power forward Marko Simonovic (213-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. American-Croatian point guard Jaleen Smith (190-1994, college: UNH) chipped in 24 points. American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) produced 15 points and 9 assists and Armenian-American swingman Ronald March (196-1993, college: Philander Smith) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Four Turk Telekom and five Mersin Spor players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Turk Telekom have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Mersin Spor lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost.
