Regular Season Round 8: Nesibe - Mersin 88-90

The most exciting game of round 8 in the KBSL took place in Ankara. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengersNesibe (5-2) to fifth ranked Mersin (5-2) 90-88 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nesibe. Lithuanian forward Laura Juskaite (187-1997) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (173-1993) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard Rennia Davis (188-1999, college: Tennessee) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American-Jamaican guard Morgan Green (175-1996, college: UC Irvine) added 28 points and 4 assists in the effort for Nesibe. Five Mersin and four Nesibe players scored in double figures. Nesibe's coach Erman Okerman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mersin have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Nesibe.
