There was no surprise when 13th rankedMersin Spor (3-9) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Bursaspor (5-7) 99-88 on Sunday. Bursaspor made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Strangely Mersin Spor outrebounded Bursaspor 36-22 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bursaspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Childress (183-1997, college: Wake Forest) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Cameroonian center Landry Nnoko (208-1994, college: Clemson) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (192-1989, college: Wyoming) with 24 points and 4 assists and American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) scored 17 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bursaspor moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Petkim. Mersin Spor lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Manisa.
