Eleventh-rankedPetkimspor (5-8) used its home court advantage to challenge leader Besiktas (13-0) in Izmir. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72 . However their fans expected much easier game. American Jonah Mathews (191-1998, college: USC) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Croatian center Ante Zizic (210-1997) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Besiktas' coach Dusan Alimpijevic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-1996) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Dutch swingman Yannick Franke (196-1996) scored 18 points. Besiktas have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Petkim at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Bursaspor.
