Regular Season Round 16: Edirne - Darica 44-67

Rather expected game when 14th ranked Edirne (1-13) was smashed at home by eleventh ranked Darica (6-8) 67-44 on Saturday. Darica held Edirne to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.3 percent accuracy of the winners. The winners were led by American forward Dekeiya Cohen (188-1996, college: Baylor) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Brittany Byrd (176-1996, college: UIC) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Darica players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 7 assists by Hilal Bayraktar (163-2000) did not help to save the game for Edirne. added 10 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Darica moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Adana and Emlak 2. Edirne lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Darica will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Edirne will play against Emlak 2 (#10) in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
