There was no surprise in Istanbul where 17th rankediLab (5-13) was outplayed by third ranked Cayirova (15-4) 97-67 on Monday. Cayirova made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Cayirova outrebounded iLab 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Cayirova looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Roberto Gallinat (193-1996, college: Pacific, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import center Jamari Traylor (203-1992, college: Kansas) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Gokay Hacioglu (-2002) produced 24 points and guard Eray Akyuz (187-2000) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Cayirova went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser iLab stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost.
