There was a minor upset when 10th rankedTofas (8-11) lost to twelfth ranked Mersin Spor (7-12) in Bursa 83-88 on Saturday. Mersin Spor had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (192-1989, college: Wyoming) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. French Hugo Besson (191-2001) came up with 22 points and Mexican-American point guard Alexander Perez-Kaufmann (191-1993) added 11 points and 9 assists respectively for Tofas in the defeat. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mersin Spor moved-up to eleventh place. Tofas lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Merkezefendi.
