There was a surprise result in Istanbul where thirteenth rankedCedi Osman (12-20) defeated higher ranked Goztepe (19-13) 91-86 on Monday. Cedi Osman made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Goztepe outrebounded Cedi Osman 53-35 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cedi Osman looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Julien Ducree (206-1997, college: Utah Tech) stepped up and scored 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Maurice Watson (178-1993, college: Creighton) chipped in 11 points and 12 assists. Cedi Osman's coach Abdulkadir Serdar used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Ahmet Cantitiz (193-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Cedi Osman moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ankaragucu. Goztepe at the other side keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost.
