There was no surprise in Istanbul where 16th rankedBuyukcekmece (4-26) was crushed by fifth ranked Efes (20-10) 113-79 on Friday. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Buyukcekmece 's 28. They outrebounded Buyukcekmece 38-21 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international point guard Sehmus Hazer (192-1999) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and international David Mutaf (197-2002, college: Minnesota) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Four Efes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Ghanian center Nathan Mensah (208-1998, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) with 17 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Dutch point guard Keye Van Der Vuurst (191-2001) scored 15 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Efes have a solid four-game winning streak. Anadolu Efes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Turk Telekom. Buyukcekmece lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games.
