Regular Season Round 30: Besiktas - Galatasaray 82-89

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul:Galatasaray (#8) and Besiktas (#2). Besiktas was defeated at home 82-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Besiktas. It was a great shooting night for Galatasaray especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was American James Palmer Jr (198-1996, college: Nebraska) who scored 22 points and 4 steals. The other American import swingman Jerome Robinson (197-1997, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 17 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Devon Dotson (188-1999, college: Kansas) who recorded 15 points and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international center Sertac Sanli (214-1991) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray (17-13) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Erokspor. Besiktas at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost.
